Microsoft ATP Link Bypass Rule
1 Bypassing the Junk Folder (O365 servers ONLY)
- From the Microsoft 365 admin center, select ... Show All in the left hand menu.
- Then under Admin centers, click on Exchange
- Click on the Mail flow dropdown, then Rules
- Click the (+) button beneath Rules
- Select Bypass spam filtering...
- Give the rule a name, such as "Cyber Risk Aware Skip Junk Filtering"
- Click the Apply this rule if... drop-down menu and select The Sender, then select IP address is in any of these ranges or exactly matches.
- Enter our IP addresses (192.254.120.51, 168.245.104.162)
- Click the Do the following drop-down menu and click Modify the message properties then Set a Message Header.
- Click on the *Enter text... button after "Set the message header" to set the message header. Enter the text: X-Forefront-Antispam-Report (This value is case sensitive).
- Click OK.
- Click the next *Enter text... button after "to the value" and enter SFV:SKI; (This value is case sensitive).
- Click OK
- Click Save.
2 Microsoft ATP Attachment Bypass Rule
- Create a new mail flow rule in your Microsoft 365 admin center (as in Steps 1 - 4 above under Bypassing the Junk Folder).
- Select the 'Create a new rule' option.
- Give the rule a name such as “Cyber Risk Aware Bypass ATP Attachments”
- Click more options.
- From the Apply this rule if… drop-down, select the senders then select IP address is in any of these ranges or exactly matches.
- Enter our IP addresses (192.254.120.51, 168.245.104.162)
- From the Do the following… drop-down, select Modify the message properties... and then set a message header.
- Click the first *Enter text... link and set the message header to: X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SkipSafeAttachmentProcessing
- Click the second *Enter text... link and set the value to: 1
- Click Save.
3 Microsoft ATP Link Bypass Rule
- Create a new mail flow rule in your Microsoft 365 admin center (as in Steps 1 - 4 above under Bypassing the Junk Folder).
- Give the rule a name such as "Cyber Risk Aware Bypass ATP Link Processing"
- Click More options....
- From the Apply this rule if…. drop-down menu select The senders then select IP address is in any of these ranges or exactly matches
- Enter our IP addresses (192.254.120.51, 168.245.104.162)
- From the Do the following… drop-down menu, select Modify the message properties... and then set a message header.
- Click the first *Enter text... link and set the message header to:
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SkipSafeLinksProcessing - Click the second *Enter text... link and set the value to: 1
- Click Save.
